I was worried about my time on this 30 minute sketch so decided to use a photo for paintover. From now on I will probably avoid this for these quick warmups.
Sketch - "Turret" + "Decay"
Here is today's 30 minute sketch - the light source wasn't great but I didn't start off with lines! Go me!
30 minutes - done with prompts from CAS
Sketch - "Norse" + "Wagon"
Getting back on the daily sketch horse and will try to get one 30 minute drawing down and out every week day.
This one was hard to start off on because my horse/oxen game is pretty weak - so I knew I didn't want to burn a large part of my 30 minutes on it...
For the wagon I basically cut a long ship, threw wheels on with a hint of knot work for the spokes and called it a day.
Man that horse sucks hard...

"Offroad + Nasty" and "Imposing Monster"
These two sketches were completed during class using prompts from Concept Art Sessions.
The first was a 45 minute riff on a zombie slaying tractor with a strapped on propane tank and flame thrower.
The second image was a follow along with the class assignment of creating a drawing using a limited color palette. Had more time to polish this one up a bit.
September 5th - "Paddlewheel" + "Weapons"
Worked on these thumbs with a "Paddlewheel" + "Weapons" keyword prompt from Concept Art Sessions.
I haven't drawn too many boats before but really enjoyed mixing old forms with new to create a few steam powered gunboats. It's usually really hard for me to let go of keeping accurate perspective while thumbnailing but I feel like a few of these made it through pretty wonky and I didn't feel the need to obsess over them and fix it! Progress!
August 23rd - "Dig" + "Laser"
Worked on these thumbs with a "Dig" + "Laser" keyword prompt from Concept Art Sessions. I haven't had the chance to work on construction equipment much but God knows I rubber neck whenever I pass them on the road.
Overall I wanted to push just how small the laser was compared to the cooling and fuel needed to keep it going.
Concept Art Sessions - Camouflage + Guerilla + Unsafe
Had some time in class today for a 1+ hour CAS prompt. I got "Camouflage + Guerilla + Unsafe". Used reference for the gorilla and a limited palate for everything else just to mirror the student's assignment.

April - Day 22
Yesterday was again working on private stuff - Today I got 20 minutes during class to knock out a creepy humanesque faced battle mount. Im kinda liking the buffalo meets opossum mix body but the head needs to be cutoff and re-engineered!

The prompts were "Teeth" and "War"
April - Day 17
Yesterday was a day of silence for my friends who lost their job.
April - Day 15
Bird Dragon!
30 minute sketch on www.conceptartsessions.com - topic was creature and tag was "beak"
April - Day 10
Got called away a few times, but happy with it overall. Wish I could have moved his colors into the gamut of the rest of the piece but oh well. Also had a guy walking by and dropping a catchup packet in but abandoned him due to time.

April - Day 4 + 5
Not used to a photo assisted workflow. Burned too much time and couldn't really pull the comp together at all over the first hour. Gave it a second hour which helped but im sure when I wake up tomorrow and look back on it with eyes anew I'll delete this post out of shame.
